The Plastics Police environmental organization

Hi, we are The Plastics Police - an environmental organization started by a group of friends that have decided to save the ocean by raising awareness of the dangers associated with Single Use Plastics. Our names are Calvin, Matthew, Nico and Luke.

Did you know that over 150 plastic bottles litter each mile of UK beaches.

A plastic Bottle can last for 450 years in the Ocean. 100,000 Marine Mammals and 1 Million Sea Birds are killed each year from plastic pollution. It is estimated that there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans by 2050 - We need to do something now!

If every pupil in the Musselburgh Area substituted a plastic single use water bottle with a refillable, reuseable water bottle  – we would prevent 7 Million plastic water bottles from going into our sea.

And, if every pupil in East Lothian stopped using plastic water bottles – we would prevent 32 Million plastic water bottles from harming our marine life from Musselburgh to North Berwick.

So, we have created our own aluminium water bottles - not plastic - that we can sell to our friends, and their families, so that we can call take a step to reducing Single Use Plastic and help save our marine life.
